The brief was simple. A home for two brothers,who would live with their parents close to the Deepor Beel lake in Guwahati. The internal dynamics of the closely knit family demanded that all private spaces be physically and visually connected to the central open space. The design solution was to create spaces at intermediate levels to allow multiple points of access and vantage.

The prayer room, being a crucial space for the family, has been conceived as a dimly lit meditation chamber, the only source of daylight being a thin vertical slit through the eastern wall.
